Hints and Tips
Optimization Tips

A spray nozzle can only perform properly if the entire spray system is operating efficiently.  For peak system performance, all system components such as nozzles, pumps, sensors, hydraulics, and pneumatics, must be accurately controlled.

  • Never point a spray gun at another person or yourself, injury can result.
  • Use the trigger lock feature when the gun is not in use to avoid accidental discharge.
  • Be sure to use correct spray gun for your pressure and flow range to ensure safety and achieve maximum performance.
  • Spray guns are rated for optimal flow rates.  Use tips that match - no performance improvements will result from using a tip with a higher capacity than the spray gun.
  • Eliminate water hammer and pressure spikes by using an unloader valve.
  • Add a swivel hose to ensure easy movement of the spray gun and hose.
  • Check and tighten fluid connections if necessary to avoid leaks.
  • Proper selection of a spray gun, for your application, will reduce operator fatigue.

Conserving Water
There are many simple things you can do to conserve water use when spraying.  Simply choosing the correct hand gun and nozzle may help reduce water waste.  To acheive the most water efficient application, follow these helpful guidelines.
  • Fix leaks.  check and replace worn seals and gaskets.
  • Be sure to use the proper nozzle for the application.  Using the wrong nozzle can result in drops that are too big or too small, which causes overspray, overwetting, or misting.
  • To ensure precise spray make sure nozzles are properly positioned to minimize waste.
  • Inspect nozzles regularly for clogging wand wear.
Remember!  Nozzle wear is one of the leading causes of water waste.  Although this wear may not be very noticable in early stages, over time, drop size will increase and erosion or corrosion of nozzle may occur, thus changing spray patterns.

Safety Instructions
When operating any spraying system, always shut off pump, discharge contents of gun to eliminate pressure, and lock the gun trigger in "OFF" position by engaging trigger lock.

  • Never allow children or unauthorized personnel to handle equipment.
  • Never put your hand or fingers in front of gun.
  • Never point gun at your body or anyone else.
  • Never leave gun unattended without releasing pressure and engaging trigger lock.
  • Never use mechanical means to hold trigger in open position.
  • Exercise care and caution when spraying.
  • Stop spraying before becoming fatigued.
  • Before pulling trigger grasp firmly to ensure control of application.
